| Creator | Stewart; Alexander (1764-1821); British Presbyterian minister and Gaelic scholar |
| Recipient | Stewart; Margaret (1755-1819); British |
| Date | 7 July 1808 |
| Description | Alexander expresses anxiety about his sister, 'distressed with pain and fever'. They were alarmed by the letter from Mrs.Tennent. Emilia wanted him to set out immediately for Glasgow. They hoped that Mrs. Small might visit her, although Alexander feared that her strength was not equal to the journey. However, Mr. and Mrs. Small wrote directly on arriving in Glasgow. He wishes to know if she has removed from the Infirmary and into lodgings. He is at a loss about what to think of her 'distemper' but is pleased that she has so many pious and worthy ministers around her. Wallace has written from Moulin, complaining sorrowfully. He gives news of others, including their old servant Meg Robertson, who has turned baptist and joined the missionaries. He gives an account of the minister Donald Martin of the Isle of Skye and concludes with good wishes.
