Alexander intends to send his bill to the same Duncan Cameron, and she is entitled to £10 from this, which will be applied to her nephew Charles. [19 October] Alexander narrates the case of Thomas Holm, the eldest son of Hector Holm, the manager of Invergordon Post Office. Thomas stole a bill of exchange from from India in his father's office, to cover debts incurred at College. His father sent money for payment of the debt and to recover the bill, but the son then stole money from a letter and now resides in Tain gaol, before standing trial in Edinburgh.
