TitleLetter from Alexr [Alexander] Stewart, Dingwall, to Charles, Duncan, and James Stewart, Mount Hooley Cottage, Aberdeen
CreatorStewart; Alexander (1764-1821); British Presbyterian minister and Gaelic scholar
Date15 October 1816
DescriptionHe gives blessings to his children, writing to them collectively in reply to individual letters. He reviews their studies in Aberdeen, in Latin and eventually Greek. He describes the forthcoming competition humorously, with Mr. Allan [their tutor?] hiding inthe woods until judgement. The bursary is not insignificant, but their parents' opinion of them will not change whether they succeed or not. He conveys love from their grandmother, sister Catherine, and Patrick.
