He gives an account of his own condition, saying that 'The small stones ...came off in considerable number', and are now probably removed, but he also has a cold. He asks after packets he sent to her, and notes that he is in good hands with Dr. Buchanan, Dr. Fleming, and Mr. Hepburne. He proposes to go to Glasgow with Catherine by water, and then go to Stirling, amd he may be addressed at Mrs. Small's there. He has received a letter from Miss Holm from Tain with a bill for £25. He notes how Catherine might reply to her, with a version of his symptoms. He will draw the money, sending £15 to Emilia and retaining £10 for his immediate needs, with other instructions on financial matters. [12 June] He sends love to Emilia and their children, and sends a packet of papers for Miss Betsy fromn Dr. Gregory, about an unnamed friend.
