DateNo date [c.1808? watermarked 1806]
DescriptionHe has many things to mention, commencing with news of the boys, who were aloows to accept an invitation from Miss Bethune. He gives news of progress on the house, with presses repaired and scoured, the lint weeded., and the garden scrubbed. Alexander notes a visit from two travelling ministers, Mr. Thomas and Mr. Wardlaw. He has had so many interuptions that he will be unable to visit Urquhart as planned. He thinks she should come to put the house in order before they all leave it, and he suggests travel arrangements. Mr. Simpson thinks that action may be taken following Mr. Dallas's triumph over John Mackenzie, perhaps an absurd resolution imposing the worst duties of the mission upon Dallas. He discusses whether Mr. Calder should attend the meeting next Wednesday and continues with more on the 'fracas'.
