Mrs. Graham has written, saying she plans to leave the coast and take refuge at Moulin. He gives travel plans, including a visit to Fife next week, then to Kilconquar, and then home. His brother's daughter, Louisa, may come to stay. He gives news of other acquantances, and says that his leg is not yet well, but he will preach at Logierait. He writes a section to Emilia's parents. [9 July] Margaret Stewart writes with general news, including of Mrs Graham of Greigston and her alarm at the prospect of a French invasion at the Firth of Forth. [12 August] Alexander explains how he hurt his leg, tumbling from a ladder in the barn, but he is now almost whole. He is glad that she is making plans to return. He gives his own travel plans which might include a visit of Urquhart. He completes the letter with a cross-written section.
