| Description | Robson writes: 'There are few physiological questions on which so much doubt and disagreement prevail as on that of the secretion and uses of bile, this being especially marked when we come to compare the apparently contradictory observations of various experimenters relating to the action of drugs on the biliary secretion.' He presents a case study of a 42 year old woman with a biliary fistula 'having been left by an operation performed to relieve an obstruction in the common bile duct.'
