Description | Shattock describes the 'five modes of wound-healing in man', 'the healing without separation of surfaces' , 'healing of gaping parts of incision without cork-formation', 'healing in Faba vulgaris; without sclerosis of scar tissue', 'healing in Ficus carica; with sclerosis of scar tissue', and 'healing by secondary adhesion, or when the surfaces are first healed by cork.'
