DescriptionThe author writes observations of the effects of lightning on a granite rock in Scotland, stating that he sent specimens of the rock in its natural state and after being struck by lightning to the Royal Society. The author describes the valley in which the rocks were found, the storm that caused the lightning, and then appends an account of the event by Mr Jacob Shledon [sic], on whose property the lightning strike took place.
