DescriptionSeries of paintings divided into four 'compartments'. The first compartment shows parts of the female Conus, including the oviduct, lung, intestine, heart, and liver. The second compartment shows the testis of the male Conus and the ovary of the female Conus. The third compartment shows the tube and body of the Conus. The fourth compartment shows the tube and alimentary canal of the Conus as well as a Cypraea mauritiana [Mauritia mauritiana; humpback cowry].
