| Description | Brisbane responds to Davy, who had posed queries relating to the geology of Australia in a previous letter. He writes that he was pleased to hear that the Arc of Meridian would be measured in Parramatta. He states that he is enclosing a copy of a letter (not included) from Mr Lecour, a French mineralogist, responding to Davy's geologic queries. Brisbane also provides his own impressions on the presence of fossils, animals such as kangaroos, and candle coal in Australia. He also writes that he is sending an abstract of his meteorological diary, and discusses his astronomical observations. Includes a postscript dated 2 July 1824.
