TitleUnpublished paper, 'Eclipse of the sun observed at Benares' by James Prinsep
Date[1828]
DescriptionPrinsep provides his observations of a partial solar eclipse in Benares [Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India] observed with a telescope on 26 April 1827. He provides an additional set of observations of a lunar eclipse, also observed in Benares, on 3 November 1827, as well as accompanying observations of the same eclipse taken by Walter Ewer in Cawnpoor [Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh]. Includes tables of measurements relating to the eclipses.

This paper appears to have originally been two separate papers, the second previously titled 'Observations of an eclipse of the moon at Benares on the 3rd November 1827'. Significant corrections and deletions appear throughout in graphite.
