Description | Adam, Fellow of the College of Physicians of Edinburgh, shares his observations on two human skeletons and compares their measurements. This includes detailed measurements of cranium, vertebrae, sternum, pelvis, patella and fibula. He concludes that 'the human body exhibits more or less the masculine or the feminine character'. 'Includes one table of data on dimensions of the vertebrae and two tables of data on the dimensions of the ribs in 'the adult European female and male of the human species'.
