TitleUnpublished paper, 'Practical remarks on annealing flint glass' by Apsley Pellatt
CreatorPellatt; Apsley (1791-1863); English glassware manufacturer
Date18 February 1848
DescriptionPellatt writes on practical details relating to the art of annealing flint glass and depriving it of colour, explaining that he leaves the rationale of these facts to be explained by philosophers. Subject: Optics / Scientific apparatus and instruments

Received 1 March 1848 / 2 March 1848. Communicated by Joshua Field.

Written by Pellatt at Falcon Glass Works, Holland Street [London].

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 5 of Abstracts of the Papers Printed in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London [later Proceedings of the Royal Society] as 'Practical remarks on annealing flint-glass'.
