DescriptionFreke writes that the 'remote cause' of cholera is considered to be connected with 'an abnormal condition of terrestrial electricity', while the 'proximate cause' is 'a suspension of the function of the ganglionic system of nerves'. He believes that these two causes must be connected, and puts forth his theories in an 'accompanying volume' [not included with letter].
