TitlePaper, 'Notes on British Foraminifera' by John Gwyn Jeffreys
Date18 June 1855
DescriptionJeffreys shares observations made upon 'many hundred recent and living specimens of various species' of Foraminifera. He suggests that they are 'simple and homogenous' and reproduce by gemmation. He believes that the geographical distribution of species of Foraminifera is 'regulated by the same laws as in the Mollusks and other marine animals'.
