TitleUnpublished paper, 'On transfer-resistance in electrolytic and voltaic cells' by George Gore
Date1885
DescriptionGore describes a series of methods by means of which the reality of the phenomenon of transfer resistance in electrolytic and voltaic cells has been determined. Other methods are given for measuring the amounts of such 'resistance', either collectively at the two electrodes of an electrolytic cell, or separately at each electrode. Modes of obviating the interference of polarisation, and of securing success in the measurements, are also described.

Includes four diagrams of Gore's experimental equipment and setup.

Subject: Physics / Electricity

Received 2 March 1885.

Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 38 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'On "transfer-resistance" in electrolytic and voltaic cells'.
