Whilst the Royal Society declined to publish this paper in full, an abstract of the paper was published in volume 44 of the Proceedings of the Royal Society as 'Muscular movements in man, and their evolution in the infant: a study of movement in man, and its evolution, together with inferences as to the properties of nerve-centres and their modes of action in expressing thought'.

A version of this paper was published by Warner in the Journal of Mental Science [later British Journal of Psychiatry]: Warner, Francis.
