Description | The paper contains the results of an investigation into the structure of a series of advanced embryos of the common trout (Salmo trutta), exhibiting various degrees of symmetrical duplicity. Gemmill states that the object of the paper 'is to give an account of the anatomy of these monstrosities, and to explain by reference to details of structure the appearances attending the fusion, special adaptation, or complete loss of parts in the region of transition from the double to the single condition.'
