Date7 February 1811
DescriptionIvens describes a volcanic eruption that took place underwater near São Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal in February 1811. He describes the villages of Ginetes, Varzes [Varzea], and Candelaria [Candelária] experiencing earthquakes in the lead up to the eruption.
