DescriptionKitchiner writes of his newest improvement to the eyepiece of an achromatic telescope, calling it a pancratic eye tube. The improvement seeks to achieve the optimum distance between the two lenses in an eyepiece, allowing for the greatest magnification and greatest clarity.

The title of the letter has been added in graphite in another hand.
