Asks Blagden to thank Mr Thomson for sending him a work that has inspired him a lot, discusses translation of volumes by Mr Riffault. Passes on thanks of Madame Le Monnier for sending seeds. Gives him a new address of "M[onsieu]rs de Chapeau rouge et compagnie" at Hamburg. Discusses Biot who has started work for a paper on the refraction of gases and other substances [these paragraphs have been marked with pencil]. Discusses Laplace. Assures Blagden that his (Blagden's) conduct is not suspect and that he can travel without suspicion. Discusses announcement by Mr Chenevix. Sends his family's compliments. Thanks him for sending books. With note by Delessert. |
