Discusses Biot who has started work for a paper on the refraction of gases and other substances [these paragraphs have been marked with pencil]. Discusses Laplace. Assures Blagden that his (Blagden's) conduct is not suspect and that he can travel without suspicion. Discusses announcement by Mr Chenevix. Sends his family's compliments. Thanks him for sending books.
