Title | Letter from Claude Louis Berthollet to Charles Blagden |
Date | 29 January 1808 |
Description | Has received Blagden's two letters that describe Davy's experiments ("les belles experiences de Mr Davy"). The Institute have given their annual prize for Galvanisation to Davy for his paper. They have welcomed these new experiments and have repeated them with success, they all take a lively interest in the illness of their young and illustrious author. In their results there was one that they have doubted - the decomposition of ammonia. Has sent his last letter to Mr Chenevix but has not seen him. Does not know if Blagden has received the volume of "Memoires [de Physique et de Chimie] de la Societé d'Arcueil" that he sent almost four months ago. |
