DescriptionNotes that he lodges with Mrs Blair. Writes to his aunt to amuse her with an account of his journey from Bristol to Edinburgh. Describes a "very fine castle" at Hatfield and passage through Stamford, Grantham, commenting on his preference for a craggy landscape. Describes Doncaster and that it is famous for its stove manufactory and horse races and passage through Yorkshire. Describes Durham and journey through the night to Newcastle, which has the reputation of being a "rude and brutal place".
