Description | Thanks Blagden for his letter, is pleased that Blagden wishes to commence a correspondence with him, wishes their correspondence to be free and open. Sends lines of French verse. Feels he has had a poor education and asks Blagden to point out any faults. Glad to hear that Blagden is finding Edinburgh agreeable. Discusses David Rizzio and Mary Queen of Scots. Blagden's brother writes to him as does Mr Hale. Visited Bristol, gives news of Blagden's sister and brothers. Gives news of "Rioters" and their trial at Gloucester. Discusses local "chit chat", drawing and the young ladies of their acquaintance. Asks for Blagden's opinion of Mr Catcott's work on the deluge. |
