Gay Lussac has had an accident, a chemical explosion has deprived him of his sight for a while. Discusses Gay Lussac and Thenard's experiments with soda and potash. Advises Davy to slow down in his research. "Science is given up to faction here" [Paris]. His letter is carried by an American minister. Asks him to let Mrs Tait? know that she may write to him. |
