DescriptionDuke of Chartres was in the air only 4 minutes as the valve at the top of the machine was immoveable. The Duke and his companions were "frightened beyond the power of assisting thence" But one of the Roberts kept his presence of mind and was able to direct the balloon away from a large pond, he now has a pension for life. Gives details of the gas in the balloon. Has managed the affair of Blagden's papers.
