Gives news of Dr Hume's clinical lectures and asks after his friends in London. Recommends Blagden to Leith, "Charles does talk bawdy in the best stile perhaps of any private Gentleman in Christendom". Discusses their friend "Honest James", "we hear he is writing a piece at present to persuade his countrymen to give Liberty to all the negroes and make restitution to the poor Indians". Asks if Blair has taken his degree. Discusses his patients. Talks of Blagden and his prodigious number of great acquaintance. Discusses Dr Cullen and Dr Gregory, his exploits and their common acquaintance.
