DescriptionDiscusses rapid progress of chemistry in France and experiments of Lavoisier and De Laplace on heat, will send a copy of their paper, he received a copy just before he left Paris. Discusses influence of experiments of Cavendish and Priestley. Describes experiments with dephlogisticated air - including experiments with animals. Thanks De Luc for the letters of introduction that he gave him for Paris, particularly indebted for the letter to Mr Delessert. Would be very happy to meet him to discuss the state of science in Paris.
