DescriptionConcerning paper of inquiries relative to hospitals - has been passed to several physicians but none have been willing to undertake the laborious work of answering and feel that a general response would not be useful - Blagden suggests a suitable French gentleman should be employed to answer the queries and offers to assist in recruitment. Congratulates Laplace on his success in analytical astronomy asks questions concerning his discoveries relating to Jupiter - has discussed findings with Herschel - discusses Jupiter's rings - discusses reasons why Herschel has been unable to observe Jupiter (moving house, travels).
Reports on papers read at the Royal Society on motions of distant bodies and on refraction of light - hopes to also write to Berthollet and to send copies of Mr Cavendish's paper on the effects of intense cold if he has time before M le Blond arrives to carry his letter - presents his complements to M Lavoisier.
