DescriptionExplains that Sir John Dewrance, Chairman of the Alloys Research Committee of the Mechanical Engineers, has arranged for a very complete investigation into the metallurgy of iron to take place at the National Physical Laboratory. Notes that Dewrance is working in connection with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. However, there needs to be a Committee to oversee the work, and explains that Dewrance is anxious that the Royal Society nominate a member.
