TitleLetter from Karl Pearson, 7 Well Road, Hampstead, to Joseph Larmor, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date18 February 1902
DescriptionInforms Larmor that he [Pearson] is ready to withdraw his paper, if he can be assured that his letter and note for the Proceedings will be put before the Council of the Royal Society. If this assurance cannot be given, then Pearson will not withdraw his paper, and will talk to the President of the Royal Society. Wants the Council to realise that 'it is very bad for the welfare of the Society for Bateson's paper to be taken as another "precedent".' Suggests that 'everybody has a right to reply to attack' and that to say otherwise is 'pure nonsense'.
