TitleCopy letter from Sir William Huggins, President of the Royal Society, to Professor [Edward Albert Sharpey] Schafer
Date[9 November 1903]
DescriptionExplains that Sir Michael Foster claimed the right of Council members to confidentially consult Fellows outside the Council about the suitability of any man proposed as Secretary. Explains that this is different from divulging what had passed at Council, and that no steps will be taken. Trusts that the differences which have arisen within the Council will be amicably settled at the special meeting on 19 November.
