TitleLetter from William Dobinson Halliburton, to Sir Michael Foster, Secretary of the Royal Society
Date25 November 1903
DescriptionThanks Sir Michael Foster for his letter, and for the Council's expressions of regret that Halliburton was placed in a difficult position. Informs Foster that he did not seek the office [of Secretary], but that it [his nomination as Secretary] caused him the greatest pleasure and then his disappointment [at not becoming Secretary] 'was correspondingly keen'. However, is prepared to forget such feelings. Notes amongst biologists a strong feeling against the loss of the Biological Secretary. Hopes that Foster will support any future action to remedy the loss of biological secretary.
