Description | Informs Joseph Larmor that the Treasury have accepted the offer of £1000 made by Sir David Gill, Sir George Darwin, and Sir George Goldie on behalf of the Royal Society, the Royal Astronomical Society, the Royal Geographical Society, and the British Association, towards the cost of executing a geodetic arc along the 30th meridian in Africa. Informs them that Mr G. J. McCaw has been sent out to assist, and that they have been lent two geodetic theodolites. Proposes to commence work in the field soon. |
