Troughton and Simms that Sir David Gill has instructed Sir Richard Glazebrook to send them the Jaderin 2.5 metre [geodetic] standard and accessories [used in the geodetic survey in Africa]. Asks Mr Simms to overhaul the apparatus and check everything is quite in order before returning it to the Royal Society for transmission back to Russia.
