TitleLetter from W. Alison Phillips, Savile Club, 107 Piccadilly, to Professor Arthur Schuster
Date22 October 1919
DescriptionSubmits two forms of resolution that he feels might meet the objections of the Royal Society's council regarding the Encyclopaedia Britannica scheme. Assures them that the last word in everything would rest with the Trustees, and the Royal Society could make what terms they liked as to their relations with the organisation as a whole. Also informs them that passing even the first resolution would help with securing the endowment [to take over the copyright for the Encyclopaedia].
