TitleDraft letter from [?], to the President of the Royal Society
Date22 March 1920
DescriptionDiscusses the future of meteorological research, regarding the change in the Directorship of the Meteorological Office. Thinks that the Director should be a scientific man of high standing, and hopes that the Air Ministry will consult with the Royal Society before appointing the Director. Thinks that when the Meteorological Office did not form a part of any one Government Department, that system offered greater security for research than one where the ultimate control rests with only one Department of State.
