TitleLetter from Robert Chalmers; the Treasury Chambers, to the Secretaries of the Royal Society, Burlington House
Date15 August 1913
DescriptionRegrets that the current financial difficulties of the National Physical Laboratory have resulted in the Royal Society having to guarantee an overdraft from their own funds. However, informs them that the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury do not support the proposal that Parliament should vote £5000 to be used as 'working capital' or a 'reserve fund'. Suggests that the National Physical Laboratory should ask for its fees to be paid in advance.
