| Description | Enclosing a copy of the complete scheme for the Postgraduate School of Research in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in Bombay [Mumbai] and the terms of the endowment proposed by Sir Dorabji Tata. This replaces Fletcher's lost copy. Tata has gathered from Sir George Lloyd that the scheme is well on the way, although he could not say when it would begin. Ideas will be sent to the Secretary of State and responses communicated to Fletcher. Muzumdar notes the exact terms of elements within the endowment. The school may not be sufficiently progressed to receive the two Tata Professors in April-July but he will let Fletcher know if it can be achieved by the cold weather in November. He suggests that [William Bate] Hardy writes to the Secretary of State to ascertain when the Royal Society should make a selection of Professors.
