Forwards a copy of a memorandum [CD/70/3], which he has laid before the Chemical Warfare Committee, drawing attention to the desirability of securing a flow of chemical [chemistry] students, and increasing facilities for their theoretical teaching and technical training. Reminds the Royal Society that because of the war, the United Kingdom is likely to suffer a serious handicap because of a lack of chemists after the war, especially in comparison to other countries. Invites the Royal Society to assist in considering this problem and preparing the scheme referred to in the attached memorandum. |
