DescriptionRelaying a resolution calling the Society's attention to the impending resignation of Sir Edward Maunde Thompson as Chief Librarian of the British Museum and asking that his successor be relieved of duties for the Natural History Department. The committee is aware, as was pointed out by the Prime Minister, that the Trustees have statutory rights on appointments, but Government might be persuaded to bring in a short Act of Parliament.
