| Description | The papers of de Moivre were compiled by the author on the order of the Royal Society. The propositions in these papers were the ones on which the propositions printed in de Moivre's book of chances were based. The papers include a method of summing up nfinite progressions. De Moivre's papers had been in Sir Isaac Newton's custody since 22 May 1718.
