| Description | A copy of a letter from Mr Atkinson, surgeon in Whitechapel [London], to John Douglas. Atkinson describes a woman who had a large, hard tumour on her stomach. Atkinson attempted to drain it and found that the woman's omentum was coming through the resultant hole. The woman's food and drink would partially come out through the hole, but she made a full recovery.
