DescriptionRogers recounts a story of his wife suffering from extremely severe headaches, initially in her face and eye and eventually in her right ear. Rogers attempted applying a hot roasted garlic clove to her ear, and then inserted a mixture of various hot oils into her ear. A worm then crawled out, which Rogers preserved in a sort of spirit. The worm was presented to the Society by Peter Le Neve in May 1722.
