DescriptionEdge shares observations on whales in Greenland, ambergris and spermaceti. He describes eight types of whale: the 'bearded whale', the 'sarda', the 'trumpa' [sperm whale] (Physeter macrocephalus), the 'otta sotta', the 'gibarta', the 'sedecca', the 'sedecca negro' and the 'sewria' . He then describes ambergris and spermaceti and where this is found in the whale. The paper is followed by a draft paper with annotations in ink. A note on the final page reads 'see my letter Oct 24 1668'.
