DescriptionObservations of comets by Robert Hooke between 1680 and 1683. He describes the movements of several comets. Includes details of their position in relation to surrounding stars and in relation to several constellations, including, Dolphin, Cassiopeia, Perseus and Corona Borealis [all from the northern hemisphere]. Observations made both using the naked eye and a telescope. Figures included.

Hooke read a paper about the nature of comets based on some of these observations at the meeting of Royal Society on 25 October 1682.
