DescriptionThe letter, from an unknown author to an unknown recipient, details mineral water that was detected in an unidentified city. The author describes the composition of the earth in the area including a black mould, a yellow butter-like soil, dark quicksand and little stones, and a hard type of rock from which the water emerged. Wells were built in the area, allowing the author to examine the water in depth. The author also describes the water's reported ability to cure ulcers.
