DescriptionCommittee set up by Sub-committee of the Library Committee at its meeting on 25 January 1939, where the question of the publication of the Newton Papers was discussed, and it was unanimously agreed to make the following recommendations to Council;
1. That the Newton correspondence be published in full, in a format that would permit of the publication of all Newton's works at some later date in a uniform edition
2. That since the editing of the correspondence could be a heavy task, the Editor be paid for his services
3. That Professor E T Whittaker be invited to act as the Editor
