DescriptionLists those present with Lord Lister in the chair. Committee business, including a report from the Malaria Expedition to Sierra Leone; a decision to inform the Colonial Office of the proposal that the pools that serve as [mosquito] breeding ground should be cleared up, the advisability of using nets, the inconclusive evidence on the effect of dwelling altitude, the need to inform inhabitants of malarial districts, danger of transmitting the disease quickly through a mosquito biting an infected person. Notes that the Committee does not approve Dr Prout's proposal of a large central laboratory but suggests that the Colonial Medical Officers be encouraged to investigate the diseases, with small simple lab setups. A report from C W Daniels on ways to destroy mosquitoes. A decision to publish the reports of Drs Stephens and Christophers, and consideration of a report on Gold Coast fevers by A J Chalmers. p35-39.
